Rewilding Station 511
Rewilding Station 511 is a beautification and educational native plant demonstration garden at Fire Station 511. The project was started in 2023 by Christian Cockrell, a Keep Texas Beautiful Youth Ambassador from 2023-24, and accomplished it as his community project criteria. The project partnered with Denton County Emergency Services District 1 and included expertise from Keep Argyle Beautiful, the Denton County Master Gardener Association, and the Native Plant Society of Texas - Trinity Forks Chapter. Rewilding Station 511 has received over $4,000 from H-E-B’s Our Texas, Our Future, the Native Plant Society of Texas - Trinity Forks Chapter, and Bring Back the Monarchs to Texas. Rewilding Station 511 has resulted in over 3,500 square feet being converted from turf lawn into a crucial garden for local wildlife. Rewilding Station 511 now houses Keep Argyle Beautiful’s first Monarch Way Station, as well as being a National Wildlife Federation Certified Habitat.
